Why does my login link show an 'Access Error'?

Magic links can only be used once and expire after 24 hours for security. If your link is not working, you can request a new one from the Request Access Page using the same email address you used for purchase.

What is an FD-258 card?

An FD-258 (Applicant Fingerprint Card) is the standard fingerprint card used by the ATF for background checks. It includes rolled and flat impressions of all 10 fingers.

An EFT (Electronic Fingerprint Transmission) file is a digital format used to electronically submit fingerprints to the ATF. OpenEFT converts your physical FD-258 card into a compliant EFT file for online submissions.

How can I view my EFT file?

You can use the free NIST Viewer tool to view the fingerprint images in your EFT file and verify its quality before submission.

Do I need a scanner to digitize my FD-258 card?

No, a scanner is not necessary. A clear photo from a modern smartphone is sufficient. Ensure good lighting and avoid distortion.

What happens to my fingerprint data?

Your privacy is our priority. We do not require personal information, and all fingerprint files are automatically and permanently deleted after 7 days.

What is your refund policy?

Refunds are only available if the service has not been used. If you have completed a conversion, refunds cannot be issued. All requests are handled through our payment processor, Paddle.

My file is too large! How do I reduce the file size?

The ATF rejects EFT files larger than 12MB. You can reduce file size by adjusting your phone's camera settings to 'High Efficiency' or a lower resolution like 12MP. Avoid using 'Pro' or 'RAW' modes.
